Coordinated in collaboration with Art Scene Baja, founded by Ligia Santillán, this experience introduces attendees to Tijuana’s contemporary arts community through visits to cultural institutions, galleries, and creative spaces.

Designed for museum professionals, artists, cultural workers, and arts enthusiasts, the Baja Art Crawl offers opportunities for cultural discovery, professional connections, and cross-border exchange.

Our Itinerary

10:00 AM | Meet at Roma Pharmacy Begin the day with our group meeting near the San Ysidro–Tijuana border crossing.

10:20 AM | Casa de la Cultura Tijuana Explore a historic cultural institution offering arts education, exhibitions, and community programming.

11:45 AM | Aida Valencia / Casa ValenciaVisit with a binational visual artist whose work includes mosaics, sculptures, and public art.

1:25 PM | Local Food Trucks Enjoy a break to experience Tijuana’s local culinary scene.

3:00 PM | Matiz Gallery Discover an independent contemporary art space and connect with the local arts community.

4:15 PM | Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT Explore one of the region’s major cultural institutions and learn about its exhibitions and programming.

5:30 PM | Return to Border

Important Travel Information

This event takes place in Mexico. Attendees are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate travel documents for entering Mexico and returning to the United States.

Participants will meet at the designated location in Tijuana, near the San Ysidro border crossing.
