Hello Emerging Museum Professionals!
Our San Diego chapter is looking for 6-8 new board members to join our team. We are looking for passionate, creative, museum-centric folks willing to commit their time and energy to support others in the museum community. You’ll have the opportunity to join our Marketing & Communications Committee, Outreach & Advocacy Committee, or Events & Stewardship Committee. We are seeking diverse voices with an interest in the museum field to better represent all existing and emerging museum professionals. If you’re ready to take your passion for museums and community to the next level, the San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals (SDEMP) Board is for you!
For your convenience we have provided more information on these committees below. If you are interested in one or more committees, don’t worry!–Committees work collaboratively and you will have the opportunity to explore your interests.
Marketing & Communication. Members of this committee focus on promoting our monthly programs to the right audience including creating graphics, email communication, social media posts and more.
Outreach & Advocacy. Members of this committee focus on accessibility, compiling resources, creating partnerships, and facilitating mentorships.
Events & Stewardship. Members of this committee coordinate and work out logistics for our fun monthly events and assist with cultivating our museum network.

Requirements: Able to commit approximately 10-15 hours a month (this includes one monthly board meeting, one event, and time to complete monthly tasks)
