2019: The Year of Big I.D.E.A.S.!

Updated Event Banner Template - 1920px x 1080px (6).png

San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals is proud to announce our 2019 theme: “Big I.D.E.A.S.”

As an acronym, IDEAS stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Sustainability.

These words are concepts, both concrete and abstract, that we encounter daily in the museum communities and beyond. While they have always been important to San Diego EMP and our programming, we’re excited to take a deep-dive into them with you this year!

What does inclusion mean to you? Diversity and equity? Accessibility and sustainability?

We plan to keep these ideas in the forefront as we invite you to join us for twelve carefully-crafted programs this year. From craft and conversations to hands-on workshops to helpful professional development panels… stay tuned for what is to come!

Stay connected with us on Facebook for event announcements!

Cheers to 2019,

San Diego EMP

December 5 | 6 – 8 PM | New Americans Museum

The expression “it’s not what you know, but who you know,” is only one part of the networking equation.

Stewarding professional relationships requires identifying mutually beneficial connections, outreach and cultivation. The good news is these are all things that can be learned. Our panelists will discuss strategies for building rapport, maintaining relationships and how to ask for support while expanding relationships with stakeholders invested in you.

In other words, how to make your netWORK!

We will hear from 3 incredible panelists:

  • Jeremy Bloom, Donor Relations Manager, ACLU
  • Rebecca Handelsman, Senior Director of Communications, San Diego National History Museum
  • Jill Hammons, Membership Director, USS Midway Museum

Tickets are free with a suggested donation up to $10. Space is limited. Register today!

Parking: The New American Museums is located in Liberty Station, surrounded by plenty of street and lot parking. See map
