2019: The Year of Big I.D.E.A.S.!

Updated Event Banner Template - 1920px x 1080px (6).png

San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals is proud to announce our 2019 theme: “Big I.D.E.A.S.”

As an acronym, IDEAS stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Sustainability.

These words are concepts, both concrete and abstract, that we encounter daily in the museum communities and beyond. While they have always been important to San Diego EMP and our programming, we’re excited to take a deep-dive into them with you this year!

What does inclusion mean to you? Diversity and equity? Accessibility and sustainability?

We plan to keep these ideas in the forefront as we invite you to join us for twelve carefully-crafted programs this year. From craft and conversations to hands-on workshops to helpful professional development panels… stay tuned for what is to come!

Stay connected with us on Facebook for event announcements!

Cheers to 2019,

San Diego EMP

September 27: Workshop: Appreciation in the Workplace

September 27 | 6 pm – 8 pm | San Diego History Center

The key to enjoying your work is whether you feel valued and appreciated by those around you. Not everyone feels appreciation in the same way and learning about the languages of appreciation can help you communicate authentic appreciation to your team as well as help you let others know what is meaningful for you. Learning this about yourself and others can help you to feel fulfilled and understood throughout your career!

Shelley Rezai is an Appreciation at Work Certified Facilitator and will guide us through this important discussion.

Panelists/Presenters: Shelley Rezai

Shelley Rezai has worked in the nonprofit, mental health, and education management industry for over 10 years. During that time she has worked in direct service and leadership roles giving her the understanding of value of each role and appreciation for what makes a team effective, happy and healthy! She currently works as a Nonprofit Consultant and is an Appreciation at Work Certified Facilitator.
