September 13: Craft (Wine) & Conversation: Keeping Up in a Changing Field

Event_Images_-_1920px_x_1080px.png
September 13| 5:30 – 7:30 PM | Negociant Winery

Museum folks are working from within their organizations to positively alter the historical spaces museums inhabit, from encouraging diverse hiring practices and more equitable pay, to creating more accessible programming and reaching out to work directly with communities. But how can we insure that we are in sustainable positions to continue this important work?

Join us at our September Craft (wine) & Conversation night to discuss how to keep up in a changing field. Through a roundtable-style discussion moderated by Emerging Museum Professional, Dia Bassett, guests will have the opportunity to share their views on this subject. We complied a list of articles to read to learn a little more about the subject matter, check them out below. Reading is encouraged but not required!

$5 Suggested Donation (Support EMP with a minimum donation that will help our volunteer-run organization to continue to offer free or low-cost professional development and networking opportunities for museum professionals at all levels.)

About the Exhibit
Throughout history, we’ve formed all kinds of relationships with all kinds of animals and encounter them everywhere in our daily lives. They cuddle up with us on the couch, crawl silently through our walls, sit on our dinner plates, and more.

But whether we see an animal as a pet, a pest, or food has changed over time and across cultures, making our relationships with them dynamic and complex to say the least.

Take a journey with us and discover all the surprising, unique, and inspiring ways that we live with animals. You’ll find we’re not human without them!header_image.png
