5:20pm – 6:30pm PDT: Walking Tour with David Kinney. Tour starts at the Plaza de California, in front of the Museum of Us (map)

6:30pm – 8:00pm PDT: Happy Hour at ARTIFACT in the Mingei International Museum (map)

Discover the secrets and symbols of Balboa Park! This one-hour walking tour will be guided by our park expert–the former director of Balboa Park Central, David Kinney. It is a place of beauty and culture, with a rich history. Come learn the stories behind the intricate architecture, landscaping, and greenery that make up the largest urban cultural park in the country.

Please meet us at 5:20pm in the Plaza de California, in front of the Museum of Us. The tour concludes with drinks and discussion at the ARTIFACT restaurant in Mingei.

Close parking available Alcázar Garden Parking Lot, behind the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, and along Balboa Drive.

About David Kinney

David Kinney is retired after over 30 years working in Balboa Park, most recently as the Executive Director of Balboa Park Central. He has served as chair of both the Balboa Park Committee and the Parks and Recreation Board. He currently serves on the boards of Forever Balboa Park and the Timken Museum of Art.

Nov 14: Gather: A Collective Mixer

This is the event you’ve been waiting for: three of San Diego’s most influential networking and professional development groups are joining forces for an end of the year mixer. Join Rising Arts Leaders (RAL) San Diego, San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals (EMP), and Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) San Diego on Thursday, November 14 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Societe Brewing Company (8262 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111).

We invite our members (and potential new members!) to meet and network with nonprofit and museum professionals, arts administrators, and local artists. Come for the great company and stay for the raffle prizes! This is an event you don’t want to miss.
