Getting a professional portrait for your Linkedin profile or portfolio can be prohibitively expensive. That’s why San Diego EMP has joined forces with a local photographer, and emerging museum professional, Hannah Bernabe (hannahbernabe.com) to provide professional headshots at an accessible price!

Join SDEMP at Liberty Station’s Soda and Swine for food, drinks, and photos!

Your ticket includes 2-3 professional headshots to be emailed to you after editing. You must show up at Soda and Swine before your time slot begins. We may not be able to accommodate late arrivals.

Interested in attending the Happy Hour but a bit camera shy? Select the “Happy Hour Only” ticket type if you simply want to eat, drink, and mingle with fellow EMPs, sans headshot!

June 4: Behind the Scenes: LGBTQ+ San Diego Exhibit

June 4 | 6 – 8 PM | San Diego History Center

Join San Diego EMP for a tour of the San Diego History Center’s exhibition, LGBTQ+ San Diego, with curator Lillian Faderman. Lillian will discuss the stories of struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community in San Diego, beginning with persecution, then looking at the ways the LGBTQ+ community organized in San Diego. She will highlight documents, photos, artifacts, and brief videos that trace these early attempts to fight back and to claim a legitimate presence in San Diego.

Lillian Faderman is an internationally known scholar of LGBTQ+ History and literature. She has authored numerous books of LGBTQ+ community including The Gay Revolution: The Story of the Struggle and Harvey Milk: His Lives and Death. Her books have been translated into seven languages.

Tour begins at 6:15 pm and will last about an hour. Attendees are welcome to experience the exhibition on their own after the tour ends.

The tour is free, however, a donation of $5 is requested to support San Diego EMP’s mission of providing professional development programs for local museum professionals.

Please join the San Diego Museum Council (SDMC) and San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals (EMP) for the 3rd Annual Museum Mixer!
This year’s networking happy hour will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at The LOT in Liberty Station.

Join museum colleagues from all over San Diego to celebrate International Museum Day (May 18) and another inspiring year of arts and culture in San Diego.

Mix, mingle, and participate in a fun networking bingo for your chance to win an awesome prize!

This event is a no host event. Suggested donation of $5.

Free street parking available throughout Liberty Station.
